Sandbox
Sandbox versus production
Create SDK keys with env production or sandbox. HMAC is identical. The placement index is not. Sandbox keys never appear on the production snapshot.
Keys
| env | Prefix | Use |
|---|---|---|
| production | mk_live_… | Live serve. Production placement index only. |
| sandbox | mk_test_… | Local and non-live testing. Sandbox index only. |
The secret is shown once at create. Store it like any HMAC credential. Revoke via the control plane when a key leaks.
What sandbox still does
Sandbox keys run the same moderation and URL checks as production. Creatives still need approved to fill a live decision, including house ads. Dashboard preview may render pending creatives with preview=true. The adserver must not.
Environments
Point sandbox traffic at local http://localhost:8090 or at production serve with a mk_test_ key. The worker publishes two Redis snapshots. A sandbox prefix is looked up only on the sandbox index.
There is no staging Swarm stack and no staging hostname. Local compose (Postgres, Redis, RabbitMQ, MinIO as the R2 stand-in) is the development environment. Go services run on the host, not in compose.
